(SOUTH-WEST OXFORD ON) - Police are investigating a single fatal motor vehicle collision.
On Monday, June 22, 2026, at approximately 8:53 am, members of the Oxford Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along Fire and Paramedic Services responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck on Mount Elgin Road just west of Dereham Line in South-West Oxford.
It was determined that a pickup truck left the roadway and collided with a concrete bridge embankment. The driver, a 73-year-old of Tillsonburg suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team is assisting with the investigation.
Mount Elgin Road is currently closed between Culloden Line and Dereham Line, and it is anticipated that the closure will last for several hours while officers investigate,
