INDIVIDUAL CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) - An individual is facing an impaired driving charge as a result of an investigation in Haldimand County.
On Wednesday, July 13, 2026, at approximately 3:25 am, members from the Haldimand County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an ambulance assistance call for service regarding a vehicle on Diltz Road.
During the course of the investigation it was determined that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
As a result of the investigation a 44-year-old, Peter VAN ES of Wellandport, has been charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Driving motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on September 1, 2026.
