TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) - An individual is facing an impaired driving charge as a result of a traffic stop.
On Friday, June 26, 2026, at approximately 3:20 am, a member from the Haldimand County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Ouse Street, Cayuga.
The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Haldimand County OPP detachment.
As a result of the investigation a 54-year-old, Thomas JORDAN of Port Dover, has been charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on August 11, 2026.
