ACCUSED HELD FOR BAIL HEARING AFTER INTIMATE PARTER VIOLENCE INCIDENT

(PETAWAWA, ON) - Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) related Criminal Code (CC) charges against a Petawawa resident.
On January 20, 2026, at approximately 3:10 am, officers responded to an IPV incident in progress at an address in Petawawa. An individual was taken into custody at the scene, and the victim was taken to hospital by Renfrew County Paramedics with serious injuries.
As a result of this investigation a 47-year-old from Petawawa has been charged with the following CC offences:
- Assault causing bodily harm - spousal
- Forcible confinement
- Failure to comply with undertaking
The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
