ARREST MADE AFTER NEIGHBOUR DISPUTE TURNS VIOLENT

(LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP, ON) - A Laurentian Valley Township man is facing Criminal Code (CC) charges after members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated an altercation between neighbours.
On February 9, 2026, at approximately 7:30 pm, officers responded to a neighbour dispute in progress at a residence in Laurentian Valley Township. Investigation found that an individual had been assaulted, threatened, and that property damage had occurred. No serious injuries were reported, and one individual was arrested at the scene.
As a result of this incident a 39-year-old is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Assault
- Mischief - destroys or damages property
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
The accused was held for a bail hearing at a future date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke. The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of victim as this incident involves neighbours.
