UOV OPP CHARGE SIX DRIVERS WITH STUNT DRIVING

(PEMBROKE, ON) - The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged six drivers with stunt driving in the area between June 22 and July 3, 2026.
On June 22, 2026, shortly after 8:30 am, a vehicle was stopped after being captured on radar at a speed of 138 km/h in a posted 80 km/h speed zone on Greenwood Road in Laurentian Valley Twp.
Later that same day just after 1:00 pm, a vehicle was stopped while travelling 107 km/h in a posted 60 km/h speed zone on Boundary Road in the City of Pembroke.
June 23, 2026, just after 9:30 pm, on Highway 60 in North Algona-Wilberforce Twp., a vehicle was stopped after being captured at a speed of 97 km/h in a posted 50 km/h speed zone.
On June 27, 2026, just after 9:30 am OPP stopped a driver on Highway 60 in Madawaska Valley Twp., after capturing the vehicle travelling at a speed of 135 km/h in a posted 80 km/h speed zone.
June 28, 2026, just after 11:30 pm on Highway 17 in Laurentian Hills Twp., a driver was stopped for travelling 180 km/h in a posted 90 km/h speed zone.
Finally, July 3, 2026, just before 4:00 pm on B Line Road in Laurentian Valley Twp., a driver was stopped after being captured travelling 95 km/h in a posted 50 km/h speed zone.
As a result of the charge, each driver had their license suspended for 30 days and their vehicle impounded for 14 days. The drivers were served a summons to attend Provincial Offences court at a later date.
