DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED

(LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP., ON) - The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual after locating a vehicle in a parking lot.
On June 9, 2026, just before 4:00 am, OPP located a vehicle in a parking lot near the intersection of Highway 17 and Round Lake Road in Laurentian Valley Township. As part of the investigation a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver was transported to detachment for further testing.
Andrew BAXTER, 39 years old, of Gloucester has been charged with operation while impaired. The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on July 21, 2026.
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle towed and impounded for seven days.
