One Person Charged
(BRANT, ON) - Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following an intimate partner violence investigation in Brant County.
On July 3, 2026, at approximately 9:00 pm, members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an incident involving two individuals that had occurred at a residence in the County of Brant.
As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old individual from the County of Norfolk was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following charges:
- Assault - Spousal
- Assault with A Weapon
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, suffocate or strangle
- Forcible Confinement
- Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm-Spousal
The accused was held for Bail Court and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford, on July 5, 2026, via video.
