(WEST REGION, ON) - Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are continuing targeted enforcement throughout the “Stop. Look. Live.” campaign.
Officers are focusing on behaviours that contribute to intersection-related collisions, including failing to stop at stop signs, failing to yield, and inattentive driving.
While enforcement may result in charges, the primary goal remains prevention.
Our focus is not on issuing tickets-it is on preventing tragedy,” - Staff Sergeant Julie McLeod, West Region, Traffic and Marine.
- Obey all traffic control devices
- Come to a complete stop at every intersection
- Remain alert and avoid distractions
- Understand that unsafe driving behaviours put others at risk
Enforcement serves as a reminder that safe driving is a responsibility shared by all road users.
Making safe choices behind the wheel protects lives and prevents unnecessary loss.
