Correction to assisting units
(LEAMINGTON, ON) - Members of t he Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual in the Municipality of Leamington after executing a search warrant.
On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at approximately 04:53 am, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Fox St. by members of the OPP West Region Crime Unit, Essex County and Lambton Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit, and Tactics and Response Unit (TRU).
As a result of the warrant, one individual was taken into custody without incident.
Nigel LAWRENCE, 28-year-old of Leamington was charged with the following offences:
- Utter Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or Ammunition
- Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.
