TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO CHARGES

(KINGSVILLE, ON) - One person has been charged following a traffic stop in Kingsville.
On June 21, 2026, at approximately 8:05 am, members of the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 3 in the Town of Kingsville after observing a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.
The officer was conducting mobile speed enforcement in the area when a vehicle was observed travelling at a speed of approximately 239 km/h in a posted 80 km/h speed zone.
As a result of the investigation, a 29-years-old of Windsor was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:
- Dangerous operation
- Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed
The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days as per legislation.
The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Windsor on September 11, 2026, to answer to the charges.
