A Guelph man has been arrested after a woman was assaulted last month while trying to stop a theft from her home.
On June 20 police were called to an address near Eastview Road and Auden Road. The complainant said she caught a man trying to remove tools and other items from her residence. When she intervened the man kicked her in the abdomen, causing her to fall down. He also took and smashed her phone when she tried to call police.
On Tuesday morning a 33-year-old Guelph man was arrested during a traffic stop. He is charged with assault, theft under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.
