Stunt charge for suspended driver

A Brampton man had to find another way home after he was taken off the road for stunt driving in Guelph Thursday afternoon.
At 12:20 pm a member of the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit was patrolling on Wellington Street West near Hanlon Parkway when he observed a van travelling well above the speed limit. The van was caught on radar at 103 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.
Investigation revealed the driver’s licence is currently suspended. A 24-year-old Brampton man is charged with speeding, stunt driving and driving while suspended. His licence was suspended for a further 30 days and his van was impounded for 14 days.
A stunt driving conviction will attract a minimum licence suspension of one year, a minimum fine of $2,000 and six demerit points.
