Arrest in break-in attempt

A Guelph man was arrested Thursday, a day after a reported attempted break and enter.
On Wednesday police spoke to a resident near Paisley Road and Edinburgh Road North who reported a man had been caught on camera at 2:12 am attempting to enter her backyard. She believed the same man also entered her garage a night earlier and stole two pellet rifles.
At 5:15 am Wednesday a Guelph man had been detained after a suspicious person call on Bagot Street. Property in his possession — including two pellet rifles – were seized as suspected stolen property but had not yet been reported stolen.
On Thursday a 25-year-old Guelph man was arrested for a number of charges including two counts of break and enter, two counts of trespass by night, attempt break and enter, possessing stolen property, possessing weapons for a dangerous purpose and several breaches of court orders. He was held for a bail hearing Friday.
