Man struck with baseball bat

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a man was struck in the head with a baseball bat Wednesday morning.
Just before 2 am a woman called police to report she had been threatened by another woman with a baseball bat near Gordon Street and Nottingham Street. The complainant said she was approached by a woman who asked to use her phone. When the complainant declined the other woman removed a green and black bat from her backpack and uttered a threat while briefly chasing her.
A short time later police received a second call reporting a man had been struck. Officers arrived to find the victim with a large bump on the back of his head. He was transported to hospital for treatment.
