A Guelph woman has been arrested after falsely claiming she was assaulted downtown last month.
Approximately 2:40 am June 13, the woman called 911 to report the assault. She later provided a detailed statement to investigators and described her alleged assailant.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, officers determined she made multiple false statements and was in fact the aggressor during the interaction, much of which was caught on video.
On Monday night a 20-year-old Guelph woman was arrested for public mischief and assault. She will appear in court September 22.
