A Guelph man faces assault and weapons charges after staff of a local pharmacy were confronted by a man armed with a knife Saturday.
Just before 3 pm staff of a business in the east end reported a man armed with a knife who was upset they would not refill a prescription. He was holding the knife while being verbally aggressive.
Officers arrived on scene moments later and saw the man in the parking lot. A 36-year-old Guelph man is charged with assault with a weapon and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was held for a bail hearing and has been released to appear in court July 3.
