Teen apprehended after gun reports

A Guelph teenager was apprehended after two reports on the weekend of someone pointing a handgun at strangers.
Approximately 9:25 pm Friday, a man was walking in the area of Eramosa Road and Stevenson Street North when he saw a male pointing a firearm in his direction. He left the area and called police. The two are not known to each other.
Just before 2 pm Saturday, police were called to a neighbourhood close to that location for reports of someone pointing a handgun at houses and passing cars. Officers located the male and arrested him at gunpoint. A black pellet gun resembling a Glock handgun was seized.
The teen was apprehended and transported to hospital for a mental health assessment. The pellet gun was seized for destruction.
