The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a man stole more than $1,100 in baby formular in two thefts an hour apart.

Approximately 3:35 pm December 14 a man was observed selecting several containers of formula at a business near Kortright Road West and Edinburgh Road South. He placed the formula into reusable bags and quickly walked out of the store as loss-prevention staff tried to stop him.

At 4:30 pm the same man was observed entering a business near Eramosa Road and Stevenson Street North. Again, he selected numerous containers of formula and placed them inside bags in his cart. As he headed for the exit he was approached by a loss prevention employee and told he was under arrest, but the man fled on foot.

He was described as a white male with short light brown hair, wearing a red plaid jacket, black pants and greyish white shoes.
