(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) - Disturbance results in assault charges.

On June 8, 2026, at 1:30 am, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Middlesex-London Paramedic Service were dispatched to an address in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation for the report of a disturbance.

The victim of the assault was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, a 24-year-old of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, suffocate or strangle
  • Assault - Spousal

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date to speak to the charges.
