TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVER

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) - Driver facing Impaired charge after traffic stop.
On June 20, 2026, at 1:16 pm, a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol in the Municipality of North Middlesex, observed a vehicle travelling above the posted speed limit on Centre Road.
A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.
As a result, Michael DOAN, a 48-year-old of London has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence Control Act with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Speeding 1 - 49 Km/h over posted limit
- Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in London to speak to the charges on July 21, 2026.
