DRIVER CHARGED WITH REFUSAL AFTER TRAFFIC STOP

(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) - Driver charged with refusal after traffic stop.
On July 18, 2026, at 10:12 pm, a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol in the Township of Adelaide Metcalfe, observed a suspicious vehicle travelling on Melbourne Road.
A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.
As a result, Ignace JAKIMCZUK, a 54-year-old of Strathroy has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand (two counts)
- Resist Peace Officer
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in London to speak to the charges on September 1, 2026.
