(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) - Driver facing impaired driving charge as a result of a traffic stop.

On June 21, 2026, at 7:05 am, a member of Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Bodkin Road in Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, observed a suspicious vehicle, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex County OPP detachment.

As a result, Summer CHRISJOHN, a 31-year-old of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Careless driving
  • Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero
  • Drive motor vehicle - no licence

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 27, 2026.
