OPP RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLE AFTER ALPR ALERT

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - In-car camera alert results in recovered stolen vehicle.
On July 3, 2026, at 4:14 pm, a Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member, while on general patrol on Gore Road in the Municipality of Thames Centre, was alerted by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system, of stolen vehicle.
Police confirmed the licence plates had previously been reported as stolen.
A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver was placed under arrest.
As a result, Kayla YETMAN, a 37-year-old of no fixed address, has been charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Controlled drugs and Substances Act with:
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada
- Drive motor vehicle - no licence
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in London on August 21, 2026, to speak to the charges.
