MULTIPLE TRAFFIC COMPLAINTS LEAD TO IMPAIRED DRIVER ON HIGHWAY 402

(STRATHROY CARADOC, ON) - Driver facing Impaired charge after multiple traffic complaints on Highway 402.
On July 20, 2026, at 4:40 pm, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received multiple traffic complaints of a possible impaired driver travelling in the eastbound lanes of Highway 402.
Officers located the vehicle in the eastbound lanes of Highway 402 at Longwoods Road in the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.
The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.
As a result, Brittany WREFORD a 35-year-old of Sarnia has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous Operation
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 20, 2026.
