TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE

(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) - Driver facing impaired driving charge as a result of a traffic stop.
On June 10, 2026, at 10:17 am, a member of Oneida Nation Police, while on general patrol on Elm Avenue at Keystone Place, Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, observed a suspicious vehicle, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.
The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex County OPP detachment.
As a result, Granger BROWN, a 23-year-old of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 9, 2026.
