FAIL TO REMAIN COLLISION LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) - Driver facing Impaired driving charge after fail to remain collision in Middlesex Centre.
On June 6, 2026, at 9:26 pm, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to Highbury Avenue North near Nine Mile Road in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, for the report of a two-vehicle collision.
One involved vehicle failed to remain at the scene of the collision, however, was located a short time later on Ilderton Road.
There were no injuries reported.
As a result, Govindan KIZHAKKEKATTAKKAYATHILE, a 48-year-old of Ilderton, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - Alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous Operation
- Failure to stop after accident
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in London to speak to the charges on July 7, 2026.
