TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE

(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) - Driver charged with impaired after traffic complaint received of possible impaired driver.
On June 7, 2026, at 1:09 pm, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to the report of a possible impaired driver travelling in Lambton County and possibly on route to an address in the Municipality of North Middlesex.
The vehicle was located by members of the Middlesex County OPP in Nairn at which time a traffic stop was initiated.
The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.
As a result, Shannon BURNKE, a 50-year-old of Nairn, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in London to speak to the charges on July 6, 2026.
