POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A BREAK-IN AND MISCHIEF TO A WIND TURBINE

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) - Members of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a break-in and mischief to a wind turbine and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible.
On July 3, 2026, shortly before 12:00 am members of the Lambton County OPP were dispatched to a wind turbine on Tomson Line near Rawlings Road, in the Municipality of Lambton Shores, for a report of a break and enter.
The investigation revealed that an unknown individual(s) gained entry to the turbine at approximately 11:30 pm resulting in damage being done to the entry door.
Police are looking to identify the individual(s) involved in the incident.
The consequences of damaging wind turbines can go well beyond the financial impact. Individuals can be exposed to the risk of electric shock, fire, serious injury and death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
