TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN CHARGES

(BROOKE-ALVINSTON, ON) - Two individuals are facing charges following a traffic stop in Brooke-Alvinston Township.
On July 7, 2026, shortly after 2:30 am members of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Walnut Street near Lorne Street in Brooke-Alvinston Township.
As a result of the investigation, Kyle VANDEVEN, 34-year-old from Warwick Township and Kimberly MACLEAN, 46-year-old from the Municipality of Bayham, were charged under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Buprenorphine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- oxycodone (Percocet tablets)
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Hydromorphone
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- oxycodone
- possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm
In addition, VANDEVEN, was charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order (five counts)
- Unauthorized possession of weapon
The accused individuals were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
