(NORTH BAY, ON) - An individual is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault and impaired driving, following a reported incident of intimate partner violence in East Ferris.

On Friday, June 12, 2026, at approximately 12:10 am, members of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and District of Nipissing Paramedic Services responded to a report of intimate partner violence in East Ferris.

Police learned that an individual assaulted their intimate partner before fleeing the scene in a pick-up truck. The vehicle was later involved in a collision with a stationary vehicle.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 59-year-old from East Ferris has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Refusal to comply with demand
  • Dangerous operation
  • Aggravated assault - spousal
  • Assault with a weapon - spousal
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Unlawfully in a dwelling house
  • Failure to comply with undertaking - two counts
  • Mischief over $5000

Due to the intimate partner nature of the incident, the name of the accused will not be released to protect the victim’s identity.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on June 12, 2026. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) was issued, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
