POLICE SEEKING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE WITH BREAK AND ENTER
(PAPINEAU-CAMERON, ON) - The North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals in connection with a break and enter investigation in the Mattawa area.
On Saturday June 20, 2026, officers responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a rural property located on Papineau Road in Papineau-Cameron Township. The complainant reported seeing individuals on the property via surveillance cameras at approximately 9:50 pm
Police attended the location and observed that entry into an outbuilding had been gained by cutting a lock, believed to have been done using bolt cutters. A search of the area was conducted, including nearby trail systems; however, the individuals were not located.
The two individuals observed on the surveillance footage were described as:
- Wearing dark clothing, including hooded sweatshirts
- Wearing face coverings (balaclavas)
- Carrying backpacks
- One individual appeared to be in possession of bolt cutters
