SUSPENDED DRIVER FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES

(PORT LORING, ON) - A Sudbury resident is facing multiple charges after police investigated a traffic complaint on Highway 522 in Port Loring.
On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at approximately 11:00 am, the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting patrols on Highway 522 when they were approached by a member of the public reporting motorcycles racing in the area.
Officers subsequently located a motorcycle being pushed northbound along the travelled portion of Highway 522. The operator advised police that the motorcycle had stalled and they were attempting to get it running again.
As a result of the investigation, officers determined that the individual had recently been operating the motorcycle on the highway while prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code and while suspended under the Highway Traffic Act.
As a result, Justin MIDDAUGH, 30 years of age from Sudbury, has been charged with
- Operation while prohibited under the criminal code
- Driving while under suspension
- Driver - no helmet or improper helmet
- Owner operate motor vehicle without insurance
- Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on August 18, 2026. In addition, the vehicle was impounded for a period of 45 days.
