(WEST NIPISSING, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver with impaired driving offences after responding to a vehicle collision.

On Friday May 30, 2025, at approximately 9:50 pm, the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP and Emergency Medical Service (EMS), responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, West Nipissing.

The driver, who provided a false name to police was arrested for impaired driving and was transported by EMS to the local hospital for minor injuries. A small amount of drugs, suspected to be cocaine was seized from the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, Zachary GOULARD, 35 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - drugs
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on July 3, 2025, in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
