CHARGES LAID IN INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE CASE

(CARLETON PLACE, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.
Lanark County OPP officers began an investigation on Saturday, June 20, 2026, just after 12:30 am after being called to a disturbance at an address in the Town of Carleton Place.
As a result of investigation, a 39-year-old male from Carleton Place has been charged with:
- Assault
- Overcome resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person
- Resist peace officer
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth at a later time.
The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
