(CARLETON PLACE, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an investigation into threats.

Lanark County OPP officers began an investigation on Friday, June 19, 2026, just after 2:30 pm after police were called to a residence where a person was causing damage to a door with a weapon while uttering threats of harm to the resident.

As a result of investigation, a 46-years-old female from Mississippi Mills Township has been charged with:

  • Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Mischief - destroys or damages property

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth at a later date.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim who is a young person.
