(LANARK HIGHLANDS TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Yarker resident with impaired driving.

Officers were called to a single vehicle collision in Lanark Highlands Township on Monday, July 6, 2026, just after 6:00 pm Officers attended the scene on Pine Grove Road with EMS and spoke with the driver.

The driver was arrested and transported to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Matthew ST-AMOUR, 34 years old, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Stop sign - fail to stop

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, August 17, 2026.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
