CHARGES LAID IN INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE CASE

(MONTAGUE TWP, ON)- The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Montague Township resident with offences involving intimate partner violence.
Officers began an investigation on Sunday, July 5, 2026, regarding allegations of intimate partner violence after a person attended a neighbouring police department. As a result of the investigation a 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault - two counts
- Assault causing bodily harm - two counts
The male was released from custody from and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date.
The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
