(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON)- The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Lanark Highlands Township resident with offences involving intimate partner violence.

Officers began an investigation on Friday, July 3, 2026, regarding allegations of intimate partner violence after being called to a seasonal property. As a result of the investigation a 47-year-old man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault
  • Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm
  • Mischief - two counts

The male was released from custody for and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
