COLLISION LEADS TO SEVERAL CHARGES

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Perth resident with several offences.
On Sunday, June 21, 2026, Lanark County OPP officers received a call from a motorist of a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 7, Tay Valley Township, just after 12:30 am Officers attended the scene and located the vehicle.
After speaking with the female, the driver was arrested and transported to the OPP Detachment in Perth for testing.
As a result of the investigation, Emily POOLE, 25-years-old, has been charged with:
- Dangerous operation
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
- Have care or control of vehicle with cannabis readily available
- Fail to surrender insurance card
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, August 3, 2026.
The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
