COLLISION LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE

(LANARK HIGHLANDS TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Drummond-North Elmsley Township resident with impaired driving.
On Friday, July 17, 2026, Lanark County OPP officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on County Road 511 between Proulx Road and Dobbie Road, Lanark Highlands Township. Officers located the vehicle just after 9:45 pm A male passenger and a child were transported to hospital by Lanark County Paramedics as a precaution.
After speaking with the female driver, she was arrested and transported to the Lanark County OPP Detachment in Perth for testing.
As a result of the investigation, Sarah TIMMERMAN, 30-years-old, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Drive motor vehicle with liquor readily available
- Drive while passenger under 16 fails to occupy position with a seatbelt
- Fail to surrender insurance card
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, August 31, 2026.
The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
