BREAK AND ENTER INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN ARREST

Seven Charges Laid

TOWN OF MINTO - Police have arrested a Palmerston resident in connection to a break and enter investigation.

On June 14, 2026, at approximately 4:00 am, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of an altercation at a residence in Palmerston.

It is reported that the accused broke into the residence and subsequently assaulted a victim. The accused fled prior to police arrival. The victim sustained minor injuries and was assessed by local paramedic services. The accused was located and arrested later the same day in Palmerston.

As a result of the investigation, Tyler MIDDLETON, a 27-year-old from Palmerston, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Assault
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Mischief - destroys or damages property
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order

The accused was held in police custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on June 15, 2026.
