STOLEN MOTORCYCLE RESULTS IN ARREST
Two Criminal Charges Laid
(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) - Suspect arrested, two criminal charges laid.
On June 6, 2026, at approximately 8:00 am, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of a theft that occurred at an address within Puslinch Township, involving a motorcycle being taken for a test-drive and the suspect never returning.
While on scene, it was discovered that the suspect had left another motorcycle at the seller’s property, prior to then stealing the seller’s motorcycle. While investigating the abandoned motorcycle, it was discovered that a tar-like substance, believed to be asphalt, was freshly put over the motorcycle’s VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), in the attempt to mask the identity of the previous owner, later to be identified as the suspect.
As a result of the investigation, the Wellington County OPP was able to work alongside a neighbouring OPP jurisdiction shortly thereafter within northern Ontario, who assisted in locating the suspect and placing them under arrest.
As a result of the investigation, Robert WEAVER, a 31-year-old of Crystal Beach is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Theft of motor vehicle
- Altering/Destroying/Removing a vehicle identification number
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on August 28, 2026.
