(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) - A driver is facing several charges after Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle travelling at high rates of speed near Salem.

On July 24, 2025, at approximately 11:20 pm, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7 north of Salem in the Township of Centre Wellington.

At this time, the officer observed a vehicle travelling well above the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and as a result of investigation, Amanda MURDOCK, 34-years-old from Cambridge, has been charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph, on August 8, 2025.

- Anyone charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt receives a 14-day impoundment and a 30 day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.
