INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE IN WELLINGTON COUNTY

(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) - Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members responded to several incidents of intimate partner violence over the weekend.
On July 18, 2026, at approximately 12:00 am, members of the Wellington County OPP responded to the report of a disturbance at a residence in Fergus.
As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old from Kitchener, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Breach of Recognizance
The accused was held in police custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on July 18, 2026.
Additionally, on July 18, 2026, at approximately 12:30 am, members of the Wellington County OPP responded to the report of a disturbance at a residence in Palmerston.
As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old from Huron East, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Mischief - domestic
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on August 28, 2026.
Further, on July 18, 2026, at approximately 11:15 pm, members of the Wellington County OPP responded to the report of a disturbance at a residence in Erin.
There were no reported injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old from Pembroke, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault - spousal
- Mischief - domestic
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on August 25, 2026.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
