(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) - Speed measuring warning device located. Five charges laid.
On June 2, 2026, at approximately 4:00 pm, the West-Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team was conducting proactive traffic enforcement within Wellington County, and performed a traffic stop on 8th Line West within Centre Wellington Township.
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old from Elora is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive motor vehicle with speed measuring warning device
- Driver - fail to properly wear seatbelt
- Improper tires (two counts)
- Defective braking system
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court - Guelph at a later date.
