(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) - Three drivers have been removed from Wellington County roadways recently after being charged with impaired driving.

On July 5, 2026, at approximately 3:15 am, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a single vehicle collision into a ditch on Wellington Road 124 in Guelph-Eramosa Township. There were no reported injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Priya PURI, a 35-year-old from Orangeville, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on August 14, 2026.

Additionally, on July 6, 2026, at approximately 11:45 pm, members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spot check to examine the sobriety of drivers on Wellington Road 29, outside of Fergus. A vehicle entered the checkpoint, where officers detected signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, Nick DULIC, a 33-year-old from Etobicoke, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on August 14, 2026.

Further, on July 8, 2026, at approximately 8:15 pm, members of the Wellington County OPP responded to the report from a member of the public of a possible impaired driver on Daniel Street in Erin, after a vehicle drove onto the front lawn of a residence.

As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old from Erin, is charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous operation
  • Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero
  • Drive - handheld communication device

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph on August 18, 2026.
