(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - Two individuals are facing driving and drug-related charges following a traffic stop on the outskirts of Delhi.

On Saturday, July 18, 2026, at approximately 2:47 am, a member of the Norfolk County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Highway 3 near Delhi after the police cruiser’s Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system generated a notification that prompted further investigation into the driver’s licence status.

During the investigation, the driver was taken into custody. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. As a result, the passenger was also taken into custody.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 33-year-old Rebecca MACNAUGHTON of St. Thomas, Ontario:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer, - Driving while under suspension, - Drive motor vehicle - no licence, - Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, - Fail to comply with Probation Order

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Monday, July 20, 2026.

Also charged is 46-year-old Aaron LIDKEA, of St. Thomas, Ontario, with the following alleged offence:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
