(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - Two individuals have been charged following separate impaired driving incidents.

On Saturday, February 14, 2026, at approximately 1:19 am, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on James Street in Simcoe.

Following a roadside sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

As a result, 55-year-old Bradley MATTHEWS of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Later that day, at approximately 10:48 pm, an officer on patrol observed a motorist travelling at a high rate of speed on Queensway East in Simcoe.

A traffic stop was conducted, and following a roadside sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

As a result, 35-year-old Michael HARRIS of Thames Centre has been charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
