STOLEN VEHICLE INVESTIGATION LEADS TO TWO ARRESTS IN HALTON REGION

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - Two individuals are facing numerous charges following an investigation involving a stolen vehicle in Waterford.
On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at approximately 3:20 pm, a member of the Norfolk County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting patrols on Concession 12 Townsend when they observed an individual operating a vehicle that had previously been reported stolen in Norfolk County. The vehicle fled the area and was later located at another location in Waterford, where it again fled from police.
The following day, members of the Halton Regional Police Service located the same vehicle at a location in the Town of Oakville. The driver, who was determined to be the same individual observed operating the vehicle the previous day, along with a passenger, was taken into custody without incident.
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a large quantity of suspected stolen property, including coin collections, military medals, personal identification (passports, driver’s licences, and health cards), bank cards, cheques, cell phones, and other personal belongings.
As a result, 42-year-old Christopher SCHRAM of Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:
- Operation while prohibited - eight counts, - Driving while under suspension - two counts, - Dangerous operation, - Flight from peace officer, - Theft of motor vehicle, - Possession of break-in instruments, - Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 - in Canada, - Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Also charged is 38-year-old Brittany CAMPBELL, of Norfolk County, with the following alleged offences:
- Theft of motor vehicle, - Possession of break-in instruments, - Public mischief, - Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 - in Canada
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
Investigators have since determined that some of the recovered property belongs to individuals both within and outside Norfolk County. It is also believed that some of the items may be linked to incidents that have not yet been reported to police.
